JAKARTA (9 Feb 2013) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have signed Luis Manuel Blanco of Argentine as their new chief coach while at the same time stating that Nil Maizar is not fired from his position.
Blanco (right in pix) has signed with the PSSI for two years.
“I’m planning for a lot of friendly matches for Indonesia. I hope that we can begin in June against teams like Uruguay, Mexico, Argentina and Costa Rica,” said Blanco.
Blanco has previously coached the Under-23 side of China. He had also handled Albania as well as a handful of clubs in South America.
Added Djohar Arifin, the president of the PSSI: “we are looking at forming a more dynamic National Team Board. They have to be more focused in all aspects and work hard for the betterment of the Indonesia national team.”
