JAKARTA (9 July 2012) – The hotbed of football development Holland has been identified by the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) as the venue where their national Under-23 side will spend time polishing up for the SEA Games in Myanmar next year.
Djohar Arifin Husin, the president of the PSSI, said that he had spoken to Micheal van Praag, the president of the Dutch FA (KNVB) recently and both parties seemed to have reached an understanding.
“KNVB are prepared to assist. The reason why we have chosen Holland is because of the available facilities and also in as far as logistics were concerned. It takes less than an hour to reach the training centre from Amsterdam,” said Djohar (pix).
“Other than training alone, we are also looking at arranging friendly games against teams from Belgium, Germany and France.”
With August next year identified as the best time to head to Holland, the team will still continue their preparation under chief coach Aji Santoso.
