SOLO (7 Sept 2016) – Indonesia showed that a year off from international football did not affect them one bit as they totally overwhelmed a hapless Malaysian side 3-0 in a friendly that was played at the Manahan Stadium last night.
Under the guidance of Austrian tactician, the Indonesian national side was in full control the whole night long and were never in danger of losing the tie in front of their fans.
With the mercurial Boaz Solossa and also Andik Vermansyah in their midst, Indonesia were just too confident as they pressed the lead after just six minutes when the former punished a defensive mistake to slot home.
Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, who obviously had seen better days in his international career, was punished once again five minutes later off Irfan Bachdim.
Boaz then grabbed his third of the game when he slammed in from close range in the 21st minute to complete the humiliation of the visiting Malaysians.
