JAKARTA (5 June 2009) – A 6-3 win over Hanggar IBM at the My Futsal court in Cidodol Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta completed the Indonesia national team’s round of friendlies in preparation for the AFF Futsal Championship slated for 8-14 June 2009.
The win was the latest in the series of friendlies which has been arranged with the Indonesia national team first winning 8-0 over Budi Luhur, then 6-0 over Spartan before blasting Cibabat with a 16-0 beating. However in spite of the scoreline, there were still some weaknesses in the squad and where head coach Justinus Lhaksana will need to tweak ahead of their matches against Malaysia, Thailand and Mynamar in Group A. “There were some mistakes in the matches they have played where I feel that they seem to be struggling to prise open the opponent’s defense,” said Justinus. “They seem to do well only on the flanks and I feel that they need to be a lot more patient in their game and not rush things.” Justinus said that he will be working on the team’s weaknesses in the few days before they leave for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for the championship. “Maybe not corrections but rather more like adding variety to their game at a time when the team might feel short of ideas,” added Justinus. Indonesia will open their campaign in the AFF Futsal Championship 2009 against Malaysia on 8 June. INDONESIA FUTSAL SQUAD |
