JAKARTA (29 June 2011) – The Indonesia FA (PSSI) have announced a list of 28 trainees who will attend centralised training in preparation for the AFF Under-16 Championship which will be held in Vientiane, Laos on 7-20 July 2011.
The players will be under the charge of Mundari Karya and assistant Yeyen Tumena and also Gatot Prasetyo as the goalkeeper coach while the team manager is Taufik Dwi Cahyono.
The duet of Mundari and Taufik were also in charge of the Indonesia U16 squad at the last AFF U16 Championship 2010 and the AFC U16 Championship 2010.
“The 28 players will undergo training at the Bea Cukai Stadium in Rawamangun, Jakarta Timur,” said Rahim Soekasah, the chief of the PSSI Youth Development Committee.
Out of the 28 players called for centralised training, 12 players are from the Indonesia Football Academy (IFA) with Mundari expected to trim his squad to just 20 players before the team’s departure on 5 July 2011.
Indonesia are in Group A against hosts Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Timor Leste.
