JAKARTA (14 July 2011) – The Indonesia FA (PSSI) have appointed former Dutch World Cupper Wim Rijbergen as the new chief coach – replacing Austrian Alfred Riedl.
Following the appointment of a new president of the PSSI last week, the decision was made to replace Riedl with Wim, who had also previously coached PSM Makassar.
“It is true that we have replaced the national team manager and the coach is no longer Riedl. So we will not be using Riedl,” said Djohar.
“He (Wim) has quality as he had afterall, coached the Trinidad & Tobago team for the FIFA World Cup in 2006.”
Wim’s first assignment would be for the FIFA World Cup second qualifying round against Turkmenistan (23 July 2011 and also 28 July 2011).
The new team manager for Indonesia is Ferry Kodrat – replacing Iman Arif.
