BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (27 May 2009) – Indera FC and Jerudong FC hit the right note as they each won their opening match of the 2009/2010 DSTGroup Brunei Premier League I (BPL I).
Indera FC dominated much of the exchange against Majra FC before emerging 2-1 winners at the Balapan Field in Berakas while Jerudong FC slammed NBT FC 2-0. Abd Muiz Sisa drew first blood for Indera FC in the 33rd minute before Md Saifuddin struck the second goal for Indera FC eight minutes later. But Majra FC would not go down without a fight and they came out stronger after the break. In the 74th minute, they rightly claimed their first goal in the game when they were awarded a penalty which was converted by Noor Raimi to put Majra FC back in the game. And while they came close to an equaliser two minutes to the end, Majra FC just could not deny Indera FC their first full points of the season. In the second match, Jerudong FC need not suffer such drama against NBT FC as Esmendy Ibrahim scored in the closing stages of the first half as Sufri Mohaimin then put the game beyond their opponent’s reach with the second goal on 62 minute. |
