HANOI (24 Jan 2011) – Following the injection of VND30 billion (USD1.5 million) from Eximbank, the V-League 2011 will see a three-fold increase in the prize money.
The V-League champions for 2011 will see their purse increase from VND1 billion (USD50,000) to VND3 billion (USD150,000) while the runners-up will earn VND1.5 billion (USD77,000) and the third VND750 million (USD39,000).
In 2009, the VFF received only VND12 billion dong (USD600,000) from sponsor PetroVietnam.
Other than the increase in prize money, the cash injection will also VFF increase the payments to the match officials.
The payment to referees will increase from VND1.8 million (USD90) per match to VND3 million (USD150) while for the assistants, they will see an increase from VND1.2 million (USD60) per match to VND2 million (USD100).
