BANGKOK (1 July 2009) – I AM Sport failed to keep up with Thai Futsal League leaders when Chonburi Bluewave when they fell to a 4-3 defeat to second-placed CAT Telecom Futsal Club.
But CAT Telecom were deserving of the win when they grabbed a 1-0 lead at the half through Rogerio Moreira in the 17th before stealing their second of the afternoon off Alongkorn Pratumwong just a minute after the breather. I AM Sport fought back with goals from Sermphan Khumthinkeaw (29th minute), Maykel Ferreira (37th) and Nilson Pernambuco (38th) as Guilherme Da Silva then scored the first of his two goals for CAT Telecom in the 33rd minute to level the score at 3-3. And just when I AM Sport thought that they had the point in the bag, Guilherme blasted in his second and the winner for CAT Telecom a minute to the end. With Chonburi coasting to a slim 2-1 win over defending champions Port Authority of Thailand thanks to youth international Kritsada Wongkeaw’s winner on 25 minute, the loss for I AM Sport meant they are still placed third but are now six points adrift. CAT Telecom are still second at the table with just two points behind. CURRENT THAI FUTSAL LEAGUE 2009 STANDINGS (after 18 matches) 1. CHONBURI BLUE WAVE 44pts (+47) 2.
