PETALING JAYA (31 July 2013) – The Malaysian XI completed their tour of Japan in the same humiliating manner as they had begun the previous week when they were humbled 5-0 by J-League’s Second Division side Tokyo Verdy tonight.
The friendly was the team’s third and final friendly in Japan following their 2-0 loss to Shimizu S-Pulse and then a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Shonan Bellmare. Both teams are playing in the J-League First Division.
The tour to Japan was initiated as preparation to play FC Barcelona on 10 August in Kuala Lumpur.
But with 12 goals conceded in three matches, it has put a big question mark on the future of Datuk K. Rajagobal (pix) as the chief coach of the Malaysian side.
