VIENTIANE (18 Oct 2010) – After going through more than 70 candidates and having at least two months of work under new coach David Booth, hosts Laos cannot but feel confident ahead of the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010.
Laos, who were the hosts of the SEA Games last year, will be hosts to the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 qualifiers from 22-26 Oct 2010. The Laos Football Federation (LFF) had called on 76 players from eight local football clubs and invited three players from Champassak province to undergo training and selection. The players were all invited following the 44th Anniversary of Lao Sports Day competition in Borikhamsay province recently. The qualifying round of the Suzuki Cup 2010 will be played among four countries this year and they are Cambodia, the Philippines, Timor Leste and Laos. Brunei have been banned by FIFA. Only the top two teams from the qualifiers will make the final round of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 with Indonesia and Vietnam as hosts in December. |
