HOLDERS BINH DUONG BACK IN COMMAND

HANOI (4 Aug 2008) – Defending V-League champions Binh Duong capitalised on the misery of their close rivals to go top of the V-League following their easy 3-0 demolition of Hoa Phat Hanoi.

The Cong and Haiphong suffering defeats at the hands of Da Nang and former champions Dong Tam Long An respectively.

The win lifted Dong Tam Long An from ninth to sixth while Haiphong dropped to third place as The Cong maintained their position on second.

The comprehensive 3-0 victory for Binh Duong meant that they are at the top of the V-League standings with 38 points.

In the other matches, Khanh Hoa drew with Binh Dinh 2-2 as Thanh Hoa defeated Nam Dinh 1-0 while Saigon Port beat two-time champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-1.
