HO CHI MINH CITY (26 Dec 2017) – The southern city of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam plan to host the 31st edition of the SEA Games in 2021.
The Standing Committee of HCMC Party Committee has given in-principle approval to the plan for the municipal to seek government permission to host the event in 2021.
The city has estimated budget of about VND15,600 billion (USD 687.22 million) where VND 8,136 billion (USD 358.41 million) will be spent on developing the 180-hectare Rach Chiec Sports Complex in District 2.
This will exclude the construction of the VND3,125 billion (USD 137.67 million) Rach Chiec Stadium.
Another VND1,953 billion (USD 86.04 million) is expected to be allocated for the construction of the Phan Dinh Phung Sports Center in District 3, while organizing cost is expected to be around VND904 billion (USD 39.82 million).
