YANGON (9 April 2014) – Yadanarbon FC kept their place at the top of the Myanmar National League (MNL) 2014 when they thrashed GFA FC 5-0 this week at the Youth Training Centre.
As usual, Colombian hitman Edison Fonseca was simply on fire when he struck the back of the GFA net three times in the 8th, 50th and 86th minute as Yan Aung Win nailed a brace in the 14th and 61st minute.
With the win, Yadanarbon are at the top of the MNL standings with 24 points after ten matches.
In the meantime, Kanbawza overcame Southern Myanmar 4-1 on the road with Zivkovic scoring early in the second minute before doubling their lead with the second goal on 28 minute.
Two minutes later, Thein Than Win made it 3-0 for Kanbawza as Soe Kyaw Thu pulled a goal back in the 66th minute for the home team. But Junior made sure that there was no fightback with the fourth goal of the game in the 69th minute of play.
Chin United were also on the winning track when they edged Zeyar Shwe Myay 3-2 with Keith Martu Nah providing the 75th minute winner.
Earlier, Chin had scored through Keith (6th minute) and Chun Yagin (50th) which was cancelled out by Zeyar’s Zaw Lin Tun double (48th and 58th).
