HANOI (29 Jan 2018) – The Vietnam Under-23 team was feted to a heroes’ welcome as accolades were piled on them for their achievement in coming in as runners-up at the AFC Under-23 Championship in China last week.
Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was on hand to welcome the squad in Hanoi where he also presented the Labour Order, first class, to the national U23 squad, the third-class Labour Order to head coach Park Hang-seo from the Republic of Korea, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung for their excellent achievements.
Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam also presented certificates of merit to 31 members of the U23 squad in recognition for their hard work.
The Vietnam U23 squad also presented Xuan Phuc a ball and a football shirt with signatures of the all U23 footballers and officials.
Vietnam were the first team from ASEAN to make the final of the AFC U23 Championship.
