KUALA LUMPUR (15 Sept 2012) – With an aim for their third SEA Games gold in 2013 in place, the Harimau Muda squad under chief coach Ong Kim Swee has been presented with three options to prepare the squad in the next year.
The team is currently playing in Singapore where after 17 matches; they are placed fourth in the 13-team S-League.
But Kim Swee announced this week that they have been offered to play in Brazil as well as the opportunity to make a return to the Slovakian League as they had done previously.
“We have the planning to bring the Harimau Muda squad to play abroad – either in Brazil or Slovakia. And the offer is firm where we have been asked to look at the home base, the facilities and the playing venue,” said Kim Swee.
“We are not sure at which level we have been offered to play in Brazil but this is obviously the decision of the technical committee and that of the national team management. Ultimately, they will decide which team goes where while for me, I accept whatever decision is made.
“I have no problem should they ask me to continue playing in the S-League. We have an agreement with the Singapore League but it is not mandatory that we must use our Harimau Muda team where we can also use the Harimau Muda B or Harimau Muda C.”
