KUALA LUMPUR (21 Dec 2011) – Malaysia’s Harimau Muda could not have wrapped up their tour of Australia on a better note than scoring a win against the same side they had lost earlier. The young Malaysian squad beat Central Coast Mariners 4-1.
The visitors had begun campaign with a 3-0 win over Sydney FC before succumbing to a 1-0 defeat to Central Coast Mariners. But this time round, the Malaysians were more determined with Ahmad Hazwan Bakri nailing a brace early in the game.
The remainder of the goals were scored by the Ahmad Fakri Saarani and A. Thamil Arasu.
“I am very satisfied with the performance of the players especially with the forwards. They scored four goals, so I can’t complain,” said Ong Kim Swee (pix), the chief coach of Harimau Muda.
“We could have scored a few more goals in the second half but we were just a little unlucky. It is a good preparation for the team as they look to playing in the S-League next year. This winning mentality must be kept intact no matter what.”
