YANGON (11 March 2015) – Hantharwady failed to close in on Myanmar National League leaders Yangon United this week when they could only afford a drab 1-1 draw against Rakhine.
In the match that was played at the Aung San Stadium, it was the visiting Rakhine side who went ahead at the stroke of the hour through Pyae Moe.
But Hantharwady were determined not to be outdone when George struck in the equaliser in the 74th minute.
The draw allowed Hantharwady to remain on third at the table as Rakhine were unmoved on 11th.
With Yangon maintaining a perfect four wins out of four to collect the full 16 points and a place at the top, Zwekapin United are on second with nine points from three matches played.
Elsewhere, Magwe beat Manaw Myay 2-0 while Ayeyawady United edged KBZ with the same scoreline.
