HANOI (3 Aug 2011) – Hanoi T& stuttered at the top of the V-League when they were held to a 2-2 draw by former champions Binh Duong FC at the Hang Day Stadium.
With the one point, the defending champions are now three points behind current league leader Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA).
Hanoi dominated play in the opening but it was Binh Duong who went ahead in the 37th minute off a superb free kick from Leandro as the Brazilian put the ball past the outstretched arms of international goalkeeper Hong Son.
Off a quick counter-attack into the second half, it was Binh Duong who went in front yet again when Anh Duc fired home.
Substitute Van Quyet then pulled a goal back for Hanoi in the 65th minute before Gonzalo (pix) then headed in the all-important equaliser a minute to the end for the one point.
With the draw, Hanoi are still on second with 39 points – three points behind leader Song Lam Nghe An. Da Nang are third while Binh Duong remained fourth.
