Hanoi T&T On Top As Da Nang Falter

HANOI (2 August 2012) – As SHB Da Nang faltered to pick up just one point on the weekend, Hanoi T&T have now moved up to the top of the leaderboard in the V-League going into the last three games of the season.

SHB Da Nang fell 2-1 to Kienlongbank Kien Giang to surrender the lead to Hanoi T&T, who trounced TDCS Dong Thap 3-1.

Dong Thap were the early aggressor but it was Hanoi who went ahead in the 21^st minute through international striker Van Quyet. But Dong Thap fought back after the break with the equalizer from a Hodges Devon’s header on 58 minute.

But it did not take Hanoi too long to restore their advantage with a superb free kick from Ngoc Duy three minutes before Hanoi T&T then wrapped up the points off Samson Kayode right at the end.

With the full points, Hanoi are perched at the top of the table with 45 points – one point ahead of second placed Da Nang from the same number of games played.

Elsewhere, Saigon FC solidified their third place in the standings after beating Hanoi FC 1-0 at the Hang Day stadium while Becamex Binh Duong jumped to sixth place following their 2-1 win over The Vissai Ninh Binh.

Khatoco Khanh Hoa thumped Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-0 at the Nha Trang Stadium while defending champions Song Lam Nghe An were held to a 1-1 draw against Navibank Saigon.
