HANOI (4 Nov 2019) – The AFF Awards, the most prestigious awards ceremony in the region, will be held in the beautiful city of Hanoi this Friday.
The AFF Awards is a biennial event to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the players and officials from the 12 Member Associations.
As with the previous three editions of the awards programme, Malaysia in 2013, Myanmar in 2015 and Indonesia in 2017, the competition will be close but all will be revealed in a glittering ceremony, organised and hosted by the Vietnam Football Federation.
A total of 11 individual awards are up for grabs alongside four for the teams and a special AFF Best XI from the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.
The AFF Best XI were selected by the Technical Study Group that comprised coaches from across the region and technical officials involved with the TSG at the last AFF Suzuki Cup.
The main awards to be given out during the ceremony will be for the Youth Player of the Year, Futsal Player of the Year, Coach of the Year (Men), Coach of the Year (Women), AFF Player of the Year (Women) and AFF Player of the Year (Men). There will also be an award for Best Goal in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.
Among the awards for the officials are for Assistant Referee of the Year (Women), Assistant Referee of the Year (Men), Referee of the Year (Women) and also Referee of the Year (Men).
The four awards for team are Futsal Team of the Year, Member Association of the Year, National Team of the Year (Men) and National Team of the Year (Women).
