HANOI (20 July 2015) – Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) snapped their 11-match winless streak when they beat Becamex Binh Duong 2-1 at home at in Pleiku City.
The former champions – V.League winners in 2003 and 2004 – certainly did it style when they handed defending champions Binh Duong their second loss in two matches.
It was Binh Duong who set the pace early in the game and just two minutes in, national striker Le Cong Vinh found the sweet spot to put the visitors ahead.
And just when everyone thought that it might be another disappointing outing for HAGL, came Hoang Thanh Tung with the goals for the home team to pick up just 13 points from 17 matches played.
HAGL’s first goal came off a Bui Tran Vu free kick in the 26th minute that was rebounded home by Thanh Thung before he volleyed home the second just eight minutes after the restart.
