HANOI (16 Oct 2011) – One of Vietnam biggest clubs Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) have signed a year’s contract with Choi Yoon Gyum from South Korea to be their new chief coach.
Yoon Gyum will replace current coach Huynh Van Anh.
The 49-year-old Yoon Gyum had previously played for Korean club Jeju United and was also a member of Korea’s national Under-23 team in the early 1980s.
He was also a member of Korea’s national team from 1986 until 1992.
From 1993 onwards, he was assistant coach at Jeju United before taking over as the chief coach of the club in 2001.
In 2003, Yoon Gyum took over as coach of Daejeon Citizen.
