HANOI (5 May 2012) – Former champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) moved up to second in the V-League when they edged runaway leaders Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) 2-1 in Pleiku.
SLNA were on a seven-match winning streak but despite failing to pick up the full points this week, they are still at the top of the standings with 19 points from eight matches played.
Hector Hughton gave SLNA the lead on 30 minutes before HAGL fought back with two goals from Hoang Thien in the 75th minute and then Van Long in the 90th minute.
Elsewhere, Vicem Hai Phong were held to a 2-2 draw by Dong Nai while Kienlongbank Kien Giang beat Dong Tam Long An 3-2.
