VIENTIANE (3 August 2014) – Hoang Anh Gai Lai (HAGL) Attapeu FC have been crowned as the Lao Premier League 2014 champions.
A 3-3 draw against SHB Champasak in the final game of the season were enough for HAGL to lift the title after picking up 42 points from 18 matches played.
“Teamwork was the main reason for our success as we support each other well on the pitch and had confidence in each other’s ability,” said HAGL captain Khampoumy Hanevilay.
Somphou Phongsa, the Assistant Minister of Education and Sports presented the trophy to the Attapue province club and Lao Brewery CO., LTD gave them the 100 million kip prize (USD 12,500) money for winning the league.
