SINGAPORE (15 March 2014) – An early fourth minute strike from Goran Ljubojevic gored Tanjong Pagar United FC to their second loss in three matches as it moved Balestier Khalsa to the top of the S-League.
Goran scored the only goal of the game early in the fourth minute as Balestier Khalsa take over the leadership albeit momentarily from DPMM FC.
In the meantime, Hougang United strengthened their position on second at the table when they came back from a goal down off Kazuki Sakamoto 15th minute striker to beat Albirex Niigita FC 3-1.
Hougang found the target off Diego Gama De Oliviera in the 47th minute and then a double from Geison De Carvalho Moura right at the end (89th and 90th minute).
With the full points, Hougang are on the same seven points from three matches as Balestier Khalsa.
On the other hand, Malaysia’s Harimau Muda B slipped to the bottom of the standings when they fell to their third defeat in a row. This time round, the young Malaysians were whitewashed Warriors FC.
All three goals came in the last ten minutes of the game at the Chao Chu Kang Stadium through Kevin James McCann (80th minute), Miroslav Pejic (85th) and Miroslav Pejic (95th penalty).
