SINGAPORE (8 June 2015) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have set winning the gold medal in men’s football at the SEA Games this year will come with a reward of IDR 1 miliar (USD 75,000).
This follows Indonesia’s comprehensive 6-1 beating of Cambodia two days earlier.
“The target is winning the gold medal. No more, no less,” added La Nyalla Mattalitti, the president of PSSI.
“I’m optimistic that we can win the SEA Games gold. And towards that, we have prepared the prize money for them.
“Against Cambodia, the players showed that they were determined to do well. They want to show that what Indonesian football will be missing (following the suspension on PSSI).” Indonesia bounced back from their first match defeat to Myanmar to pick up their first three points against Cambodia.
Their next match will be against the Philippines tomorrow.
