DILI (18 April 2015) – An AFC Futsal Goalkeeping Level 1 Instructors Seminar concluded in the Malaysian capital city this week.
Seven participants from Malaysia, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Australia, Japan and China took part in the three-day seminar instructed by Chinese Taipei’s Chen Yung-sheng and Farashi Moghari Amir of Iran.
“Futsal goalkeeping is a very important area and as you all know we have to keep on working more on this aspect of the game,” AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Director Ali Targholizade told those attending.
“Working in futsal development, we have to pay greater attention to this very special area and for three days you shared lots of information not just for a particular country but for the whole of Asia.
“And we recruited you for this purpose, not just because you were nominated by your Member Associations but because we felt you were the best for the job. The AFC is counting on you to develop Asian futsal goalkeeping.”
The course delved into various areas of goalkeeper coaching such as coaching methods and processes, grassroots activities, the necessary requirements for any goalkeeping coach, physical and mental preparation, warm-ups, technical and functional training drills, the planning and coaching of a training session, the laws of the game and sports injuries.
