HO CHI MINH CITY (23 March, 2008) – Several players who were part of the France 1998 World Cup winning squad will play a friendly match in Ho Chi Minh City on 8 April, 2008.
The French team will comprise of stars like Christian Karembeu, Benard Diomede, Manuel Amoros, Patrice Loko, Franck Silvestre and Youri Djorkaeff. The charity match which is being staged to mark France Week will be played against former players of the Vietnam national team which will include players like Hong Son, Huynh Duc, Cong Minh, Hoang Buu, Manh Cuong and Huu Dang. And they will be trained under former Vietnam national coach Tran Duy Long. France Week will be celebrated in Ho Chi Minh City on 6-12 April 2008 with the proceeds from the friendly game to be given to Vietnamese orphans. Apart from the match between players from the 98 World Cup squad and ex-Vietnam internationals, there will also be a game between youth players from SCAVI Rocheteau of Vietnam and the Espoir club of France’s football training centre, Clairefontaine. |
