BANGKOK (17 Oct 2011) – Robbie Fowler’s first goal of the season put Muang Thong United within six points of current league leaders Buriram PEA at the top of the Thai Premier League 2011.
Muang Thong beat Chiang Rai United 4-1 this week at the Yamaha Stadium.
The player-coach headed in Muang Thong’s lead just before the break before Christian Kouakou nailed the second goal in the 55th minute followed by a brace from Dagno Siako.
Chiang Rai United grabbed their only goal of the game off Edvaldo Pereira.
Elsewhere, TOT SC defeated Siam Navy FC 2-1 at the TOT Stadium off goals from Kone Mohamed and Takahiro Kawamura with Siam Navy replying through Somporn Thanyacharoen.
Pattaya United were held to a scoreless draw by BEC Tero Sasana at the Chonburi Physical Education stadium.
