KUALA LUMPUR (16 Feb 2011) – Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler will be in Kuala Lumpur next month as part of an exhibition tournament called EPL Masters Football Malaysia Cup 2011.
The tournament will be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on 13 March 2011.
Gavin O’Luanaigh, the chief marketing officer Football Focus Asia, said that four teams – Liverpool Masters, Manchester United Masters, EPL All Stars Masters and Malaysian Masters – will be taking part.
The tournament is an indoor six-a-side football tournament and has been running in the United Kingdom for over ten years.
“Other than Fowler, fans will also get to see players like Andrew Cole, Jesper Blomqvist, Patrik Berger, Steve McManaman, Phil Babb, Stephane Henchoz and Vladimir Smicer,” added O’Luanaigh.
The 36-year-old Fowler scored a total of 183 goals for the Anfield club and is among the top four players in the all-time top scorers’ list in the English Premier League.
In as far as the Malaysian Masters are concerned; they will be filled by the likes of Mazlan Wahid, Yap Kam Choon, K. Gunalan, P. Somasundram, Ghani Malek, Khan Hung Meng and Zainal Abidin Hassan.
Tickets for the tournament have been priced at RM33 (USD11) each.
