HO CHI MINH CITY (15 Feb 2014) – Newly arrived Vietnam Futsal coach Bruno Garcia Formoso aims to bring the country to the top four in Asia – among the ranks of Thailand, Japan and Iran.
His arrival replaced Sergio Gargelli of Italy.
“My goal for the team is to narrow the gap between Vietnam and Asian teams like Thailand, Japan and Iran. The first target is Asia’s top 8 and then the higher will be the top 4 in Asia.”
The 40-year-old Formoso is regarded as one of the best futsal coaches in Spain, after having won the Ramon Cobo Award – the award for the best futsal coach of the Spanish Football Federation.
Vietnam will have a training course in Spain from 9 April where they will play ten friendly matches in Spain in preparation for the AFC Futsal Championship in Ho Chi Minh City which begins on 30 April.
