BANGKOK (8 Oct 2013) – Thai coach Surachai Jaturapattarapong will have to contend with fitness issue as his team prepares to take on Iran in a 2015 Asian Cup qualifying tie next week in Teheran.
Six players have been axed from the initial list but they will still be led by striker Teerasil Dangda (from SCG Muang Thong United) and Suchao Nutnum (Muang Thong).
“They have played too many domestic matches,” said Surachai. “We have to check their fitness levels.”
Towards assessing fitness, the Thai side will play a warm-up match against Bahrain in two days before taking on Iran next Tuesday.
