SYDNEY (8 July 2015) – The first AFC Futsal Level 2 Coaching Certificate Course has been successfully concluded at the Valentine Sports Park in Sydney, Australia.
The course was held following the successful completion of four AFC Futsal Level 1 Coaching Certificate Courses since 2012 in Australia.
The objective of the course was to develop quality coaches to support the local futsal competitions and development programmes.
Alex Tobin, Football New South Wales Technical Director, said: “I believe that futsal is a kind of small-sided games that could benefit football, and futsal coaches may contribute from what they learnt in this course to enhance the level of futsal in Australia.”
Tsang Wai Chung, the chief instructor of the course, added: “All the participants of the course had been heavily involving in Australian futsal activities especially in the F-League (Futsal league).
“These passionate coaches expressed that they will try the best to work hand in hand to bring this game to a higher level in the country and at the same time, getting more youngsters playing this game.”
Steven Knight, the assistant instructor in the course, commented: “This core group of futsal coaches will play an important role in futsal development in Australia. I’m so pleased to find that the participants were coming from different parts of Australia and that the participants improved after this seven-day course.”
