SINGAPORE (20 May 2011) – Firdaus Tohari will be on a month long trial with Hungarian First Division side Kaposvari Rakoczi with the possibility of being offered a year’s contract should the 18-year–old able to impress selectors.
“He has to show his ability in the time that he spent with Kaposvari as that will put him within a chance of being a contract,” said Morris Pagniello, the director of Genova International Sports School (GISS).
“Football needs not only skill, speed, strength and vision but also good physique and Firdaus should work on his upper body strength.”
In the meantime, GISS are expected to receive the next batch of trainees with youngster Luis Lim Boon Keat leading the way.
There are plans to bring up to 45 players to attend training in Genova.
“I hope to make full use of this opportunity,” added the 17-year-old Luis.
