JAKARTA (20 May 2008) – A 3-0 win over PSAU in a recent friendly has failed to bring the smile to Indonesia national coach Benny Dollo ahead of the team’s much-anticipated match against Bayern Munich.
The Indonesian national team will play against the German giants at the Stadium Gelora Bung Karno on 21 May 2008. “From my observation as the coach, the result of this friendly is quite satisfactory,” said Benny. “This is due to the fact that all our attacks resulted in the ball getting into the penalty box of the opposition. It is on target – although the only problem is that the chances that we created do not convert into goal which means that we are weak with the finishing.” In the win over PSAU at the Stadium Gelanggang Mahasiswa Brojonegoro Kuningan in Jakarta, Indonesia scored off Nova Arianto, Aliyudin and Bambang Pamungkas. The game was played over three, 30-minute halves with Benny emphasising on three different disciplines throughout. The first half-hour was spent on defence, the second on pressing and the third on improvisation play. “We should not look at the 3-0 score line because the truth was that we concentrated on three different aspects of the game throughout the match,” added Benny. Nova Arianto nailed the lead in the 43rd minute before Aliyudin added the second with a 59th minute penalty and then Bambang’s late free kick for the third goal of the game. |
