BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (30 August 2016) – The first-ever FIFA Domestic Youth League Coaching Course drew to a close this week with a total of 30 local coaches receiving their certificates at the NFABD House.
The five-day course was organised by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) and was conducted by a FIFA instructor from Uzbekistan, Islam Akhmedov.
The course was aimed at educating local coaches who are involved in the ongoing FIFA-sanctioned NFABD National Under-16 Youth League on the requirements as well as the preparations to coach youth football teams on a competitive level.
The course also helped the coaches stay updated on the latest youth football techniques and strategies.
NFABD executive committee member Rosdin Hj Abd Aziz officiated the closing ceremony and said he expects the participants to use the knowledge gained from the course to boost the quality of youth football in the Sultanate.
“Firstly, on behalf of NFABD, I would like to congratulate our 30 participants on their success in this course,” said Rosdin in his closing remarks.
“With this certificate, our participants have gained practical knowledge that is crucial for the growth of youth football in the country as well as boosted the quality of the sport in the on-going National Under-16 Youth League.
“As a coach, you have a key role in leading these youngsters to maintain their professionalism and to play matches fairly on the pitch — which is why we organised this course.
“The professionalism shown by the football clubs, match commissioners, venue coordinators and match officials so far has been great — so we hope this will continue throughout the year and the years to come.
“This certificate also serves as a stepping stone for these participants to push themselves to become a very successful coach, so I hope you will reach that goal in the future.
“Last but not least, we would like to thank Islam Akhmedov for his time and we hope that you have enjoyed your stay here,” he concluded.
