PHNOM PENH (14 Feb 2011) – The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) have received USD400,000 from FIFA for the third Goal project – an initiative designed to assist countries around the world to construct technical facilities for the development and continued progress of football activities.
“We will try our best and hope to get more support from FIFA. When we have enough infrastructures, our human resources will be at the top level,” said Ouk Sethy Cheat, the general secretary of the FFC.
The third grant will be used to construct two accommodation buildings and one dressing room at the new 15-hectare National Football Centre located in Bati district, Takeo province.
The FFC received their first FIFA Goal project grant in 2002 for the construction of their current headquarters in Chaeng Meng commune on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.
The second grant was approved in 2008 and was used for the construction of two pitches, an accommodation building, a changing room and a dining room at the Takeo centre.
