BANGKOK (10 Dec 2017) – The Futsal Club Licensing and Planning Workshop was successfully held in the Thai capital with representatives from 14 clubs, the Thai Futsal League administration and local Football Associations in attendance.
The workshop organising AFC/FIFA team was welcomed by General Secretary Pol. Lt. Gen. Pisan Chuldilok of The Football Association of Thailand.
“It’s a great honour for me to welcome the AFC/FIFA delegation to Thailand for the AFC Futsal Club Licensing and Planning Workshop 2017,” he said.
“Futsal has a proud history in Thailand and has recorded many successful stories of our achievements in a short span of time.
“We are constantly looking to build forward on a strong foundation that we have established and this workshop will be the stepping stone in growing futsal further and stronger.
“The 14 futsal clubs from the Futsal Thai League will benefit greatly from this workshop as there is an increase in need for them to become more professional and stay consistent with the best practice in the professional game, he added.
He also thanked AFC for choosing Thailand as one of the earliest destinations in conducting this programme and FAT will give its support and commitment in ensuring the implementation of Futsal Club Licensing here.
The FA of Thailand will commit to play a leading role for the AFC in its futsal ambition and hopes that all the participants will find the workshop important and constructive.
Adisak Benjasiriwan, Chairman of Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee of The Football Association of Thailand said: “We are honoured to have AFC and Javier Lozano here today. Futsal is a sport close to my heart and also to all of us.
“We care about how this sport continues to grow and build itself into the fabric of society here and excite of fans. Unlike almost 20 years ago, today Futsal is in itself a brand worthy of its place amongst the leading sports here in Thailand and internationally.
“We together will grow even further with the dedication and support from all of you to be better and stronger. Futsal is a flag bearer of success for Thailand and we must maintain such standards.”
He hoped for all the participants to engage in the workshop with dedication and to make it a success as they learn from the experts to grow Futsal in Thailand to greater heights.
Ali Targholizadeh, Head of AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Development, commented: “This is our first step from the second phase of the AFC Futsal Development Programme following assessment visits across Asia. I would like to thank FIFA for supporting AFC to raise the standard of futsal with Spain Professional Futsal League President Javier Lozano.
“I would also like to thank the Thailand FA for their contribution, not only for this workshop but being active in organising futsal competitions and other events. Thailand is the best is this region and now we are moving to the next phase which is implementing the Futsal Club Licensing which is an excellent opportunity for futsal clubs in Thailand to take their professionalism to the next level.”
The other instructor was AFC Head of Football Club Licensing Mahajan Vasudevan Nair, who introduced the AFC Futsal Club Licensing Regulations. – www.the-afc.com
