NAKHON RATCHASIMA (27 Jan 2010) – The FA of Thailand (FAT) through the organisers of the King’s Cup have donated USD120,000 (4,017,000 baht) to earthquake victims of Haiti.
Suwat Liptanpanlop, the chairman of the King’s Cup organising committee, handed the money collected from ticket sales to Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. Datuk Worawi Makudi, the president of the FAT, hailed the King’s Cup tournament this year a success even though hosts Thailand finished third in the four-team meet which included Denmark, Poland and Singapore. In the meantime, the future of assistant coach Steve Darby was again thrown into limbo following the appointment of Attapol Bussapakom, who guided Muang Thong United to the Thai Premier League title last year, as an assistant to Thai head coach Bryan Robson. |
