SINGAPORE (26 Jan 2010) – The FA of Singapore (FAS) have received a sponsorship of USD100,000 from an anonymous philanthropist towards their organization of the football event in the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) this year.
Zainudin Nordin, the president of the FAS, received the sponsorship cheque from Ng Ser Miang, vice-president of the Singapore Olympic Council at a simple ceremony yesterday. ”The donor firmly believes in the ideals of the Youth Olympic Games where he felt that football should be one of the sport supported,” said Ser Miang after the ceremony. ”Even though the FAS had already made certain financial allocation for the Games, still the additional money would come in handy.” Added Zainudin: “we thank our kind benefactor and I would like to give the assurance that the money will be wisely spent. Not on frills but on the necessities. “Our boys will put up a strong performance in the Games as I firmly believe that we have prepared a formidable side.” |
