PETALING JAYA (20 June 2015) – After years of inconsistency, the FA of Malaysia (FAM) are now looking to realize their full potential following the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understandinwg (MOU) with the Japan Professional Football League.
“We will try to explore all avenues under the tie-up. This is a new era in bilateral football relationships between Japan and Malaysia,” said FAM deputy president Datuk Mokhtar Ahmad.
“Everyone knows Japan have given Asia a reason to be proud of in world football. They won the Asian Cup four times and have qualified for five consecutive World Cup Finals since 1998.”
Under the MoU, there will be exchange programmes for players, coaches and match officials to feature with the J-League clubs.
Seminars on physical training, medical care, competition management, academies and marketing strategies will also be held.
