According to FAM’s Deputy Chairman of Marketing and Sponsorship Committee, Datuk Hisamudin Yahaya, the collaboration with the Japanese company through their local distributor, Marco Corporation, is a sign that the Malaysian football scene is beginning to gain more attention.
“The pandemic that has shaken the world since March 2020 has not stopped these companies from coming forward to express their support for the national football squad.
“Through this collaboration, I am confident that it will boost the squad’s motivation to restart their 2022 Word Cup Qualifiers/2023 Asian Cup campaign which was delayed due to the pandemic,” said Datuk Hisamudin.
As a symbol of Casio’s support towards FAM, Datuk Hamidin was presented with the first Harimau Malaya and G-SHOCK collaboration watch which also carries the 001-serial number from Tezuka.
The limited edition Harimau Malaya and G-SHOCK collaboration watch uses the base model of G-SHOCK GA-2000-1A9, which comes with black and yellow inspired by the Harimau Malaya and is engraved with Harimau Malaya logo, thus highlighting its exclusiveness and superior style.
“G-SHOCK is the watch that stunned the world with a concept for toughness that defied conventional watchmaking logic. We are excited to team up with FAM to offer the limited edition watch which will make its mark in the hearts of Malaysian football fans.
“The collaboration between Casio, Marco and FAM mirrors the standard of quality that has always been a part of FAM’s direction and my hopes for the national squad is to always strive for excellence especially during their World Cup qualifiers campaign,”
He added that Casio has supported the development of various sports with its G-SHOCK brand actively. Being the official timekeeper for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020, several marketing campaigns and events will be carried out to help promote football in the ASEAN region.
