EMPIRE UNFAZED WITH BACK TO BACK DEFEATS

Empire, who are already assured of the title after opening up a 13-point lead last week, went down 2-1 to Phuchung Neak before posting a 3-1 loss to Post Tel Club FC.

As a result, they are now on 40 points at the top of the CPL with a game still to play – but ten points in front of second-placed Preah Khan Reach FC.

Preah Khan in the meantime strengthened their position on second at the table when they beat Khemara Keila FC 1-0.

The solitary strike from Lay Rasmey in the 64th minute was enough to give Preah Khan the three points as they maintained a one-point advantage over third-placed Build Bright United FC.

Build Bright’s hope of closing in on the leaders suffered a hiccup when they fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Post Tel Club FC – despite taking a 2-0 lead off Sem Bunny in the 26th minute and Onyemerela O. in the 46th minute.

Post Tel Club FC staged a fightback late in the second half to score off Duro A. in the 70th minute, Hok Sitithya in the 85th minute and Ek Vanak in the 92nd minute.
