JAKARTA (Dec 17, 2007) – There is an air of eagerness in Jakarta as the Indonesia national team prepare to take on German side Borussia Dortmund at the Stadium Utama Gelora Bung Karno in two days.
And following previous uncertainty on the inclusion of several star players, the likes of captain Ponaryo Astaman, Ellie Aiboy and Ortizan Salossa had already made their presence felt in the training squad against what will be a strong Borussia side. “It is an honour to be called to the national team,“ said Suwita Patha, who at 33-year-old is making his first ever appearance in the Indonesia national team. “What’s more we will be playing against a club which does not only have a strong domestic reputation in Germany but also an international one.” In the meantime, the Indonesia FA (PSSI) are looking at disbursing over 40,000 ticket for the one-off game in the Indonesian capital. The match will also be shown live on Indonesian television. |
