BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (3 Jan 2014) – Brunei’s only professional club DPMM FC have decided to head to Phuket in preparation of the new S-League season while LIONSXII have already gone to Jogjakarta in Indonesia to prepare themselves for the M-League which begins in mid-month.
DPMM FC have confirmed their participation in the Saksee Phuket Cup in Thailand on 25-27 January while LIONSXII will play a series of friendlies in Jogjakarta, beginning this week.
“Yes, we got the invitation to compete in the Phuket tournament and we are currently working to make it happen,” said DPMM FC’s team manager Ali Momin.
LIONSXII coach Fandi Ahmad said that with the absence of a full squad, he is just testing out players during their sojourn in Jogja.
“We are just testing out some players considering that we do not have a full squad with us. But it will be a good exposure for sure,” added Fandi.
