BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (20 Jan 2012) – DPMM FC signalled their desire to be competitive in their return to the S-League next month when they beat Thai Premier League (TPL) side Chiangrai United 2-1 in a friendly last night.
Despite falling behind by an 18th minute goal through Wasan Nathasan, the Sultanate side replied off Rodrigo Grahl’s penalty in the 25th minute and Shahrazen Said (29th minute) for the well-deserved victory.
“I was confident I would score,” said Grahl. “I want to thank the fans as it was our first big game at this stadium and it was a good fight. I’m very happy to have scored in my first match here. Like I said before, this team is like my family.
“The Thais are a good team with many imports so this was good preparation for us.”
