DOWN TO THE WIRE FOR THAI FUTSAL CROWN

Cat Telekom made shortwork of Samutrprakarn to blast them 9-3 while Port Authority of Thailand coast to a 6-4 win over Nonthaburi.

Oswaldo Freitas grabbed four goals in Cat’s win over Samutprakarn with goals in the 5th, 22nd, 23rd and 38th minute while Kiattiyot Chaleamkhet nailed a brace in the 32nd and 38th minute.

The other goals for Cat Telekom were scored by Rogerio Moreira in the 19th minute, Anucha Munjarern in the 34th minute and Veerayuth Taweegun in the 39th minute.

For Port Authority, they had only themselves to blame for making their match against Nonthaburi so close where after taking the early lead off Ukrit Teangtang in the fourth minute, they seem to be taking it a little easy for just a 3-2 lead at the break.

However, their late rally which saw Tanakorn Santanaprasit completing his hat-trick with further goals in the 24th and 29th minute (after his first goal in the 11th minute), allowed Port Authority to collect the full points to remain on the same 30 points with Cat Telekom after 11 matches.

However, Cat Telekom now hold a slight advantage with the four-goal difference they have over their close rivals.

Meanwhile in the other matches, Royal Thai Navy beat Bangkok 4-3, Sripathum University thumping Nakhornratchasima 6-0, TOT overcoming Surathani Lightning Shrimp 6-3 and Chonburi Bluewave edging RBAC with an easy 9-2 victory.

The Thai Futsal League will take a break this week to allow the national team to play in the KL World 5s in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
