HANOI (25 March 2010) – Dong Tam FC have signed Ricardo Formosinho as the new head coach to lead the team after suffering back to back defeats in their last two V-League 2010 matches.
The squad was temporarily handled by interim coach Tran Cong Minh, who has since returned to his post as Dong Tam’s assistant coach. Dong Tam managing director Pham Phu Hoa revealed that the club has invited the 54-year-old Formosinho, at the recommendation of Vietnam national coach Henrique Calisto. Incidentally, Calisto had been the coach of Dong Tam before his enlistment to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Just six matches into the current V-League season, Dong Tam had already changed their chief coach twice where prior to Cong Ming, the team was handled by another Portuguese coach Jose Luis who left the team due to health reasons. Formosinho had played for the Portuguese U19 and U21 teams. He was an assistant to Mourinho at Porto in 2004 and holds a professional coach certificate from UEFA. |
