PETALING JAYA (29 June 2014) – The FA of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed former international Dollah Salleh as the new chief coach of the Malaysian national team.
Dollah, who was offered a two-year contract, has been chosen ahead of former Iraq coach Wolfgang Sidka and also Gert Engels, who was formerly with Mozambique.
“The shortlisted coaches were these three – one local and two foreign,” said Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah, the deputy president of the FAM. “Dollah was chosen because of his winning experience and also his standing as a former international. He will be assisted by technical director Fritz Schmid.
“In the meantime, Datuk Ong Kim Swee (the interim coach) will continue as the coach of the Harimau Muda A team for the Asian Games in Incheon (in September).”
